Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

US entertainer Finn, who appeared in iconic programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Notable TV Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, like:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.

The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
