Loyal followers of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who leaped a barrier and grabbed the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside media personnel and charging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a event pathway flanked by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "released after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was due to attend court on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile features videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last December.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is clearly a punishable act," commented an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user remarked.

Fans Voice Worry Over the Star's Well-being

Numerous supporters accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented a further response on Instagram.

Several attendees also criticised security officers at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's content.

Response and Event Details

In videos shared widely, Grande seemed startled when she was grabbed by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.
