Fast bowler Atkinson Adds to England's Injury Worries.
'Major setback' for the English camp after Atkinson goes off with a hamstring injury.
Gus Atkinson added to England's injury problems when he left the playing area on the second morning of the Boxing Day Test in the Ashes series.
Atkinson felt a problem in his left leg after the final ball in his spell at the MCG.
The England team indicated Atkinson reported "discomfort" and would spend time off the field in order to be assessed "in the coming hours".
The final Test of the tour at the SCG begins this coming Sunday.
The visitors have already lost fast bowlers one seamer due to knee trouble and another paceman to a side strain on this Ashes tour.
A replacement bowler was called up to provide backup.
The seamer had a tough time in the opening two Tests, managing only three wickets.
He was omitted for the Adelaide match, before being recalled for the Melbourne Test as Archer's replacement.
Atkinson performed better in the fourth Test, bagging two scalps during the host's first knock, before adding 28 as a batsman as one of just three English batsmen who passed ten runs.
Post a single over late on the first day, he came back for the second day's play and dismissed the nightwatchman taken by the wicketkeeper.
However, towards the conclusion of that over, he delivered a change of pace to the batsman and suddenly grabbed his left hamstring.
Atkinson was brought back for the Melbourne match after being left out the Adelaide game.
