In excess of 50 lone young refugees who disappeared not long after reaching the UK and while being looked after by official bodies are yet to be found, according to information gathered.

A significant number of the vanished youths came in small boats or stowed away in the backs of trucks and are believed to have been abducted by smugglers. Kent is commonly the area where they arrive.

Statistical Information Shows Disturbing Numbers

Disclosed information has documented 345 children vanishing from local care, with 56 of those remaining unaccounted for.

From 2021 and 2023, when two hotels for children operated along with similar establishments in various locations, 132 children went missing from these facilities. Of these, 108 were later found but 24 are yet to be found.

Between 2020 and August 2025, 213 children went missing from welcome hubs for this group, with 182 found and 32 yet to be accounted for.

Nationality Breakdown of Missing Children

In each instance, youths of Albanian origin were the biggest contingent to vanish, making up a full half the overall number from the hotels, 68, and over 25% from the welcome hubs, 65.

The next most common origins to have disappeared from each location are individuals from Afghanistan subsequently Iranians.

"These numbers are alarming. Behind each number is a frightened child who will undergone egregious human rights abuses preceding their arrival in the UK seeking safety."
