Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with notable success and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
