Jurgen Klopp admits rejoining to lead Liverpool is plausible in theory.

The German coach, who departed from Anfield in 2024, remarked that a future comeback is something that could happen. The 58-year-old, after a transformative near-decade reign which brought Champions League success and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, currently occupies positions overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity for the DFL.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured England's top flight last season, but many fans who adore the manager would be thrilled by the possibility of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he told Steven Bartlett: “I stated I refuse to lead a different club on English soil. Therefore in case it's my former club...yes. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, which suggests I might decide later on, it's uncertain. Must I choose now? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, I don’t have to do that. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding what circumstances must arise to tempt his return to the dugout, he revealed he feels no immediate pull toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing under bad weather through long matches; I don’t miss going to press conferences multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, however, dining out with the team enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. With many victories meaning regularly a very good mood in the building. Remaining with me is the captain's chuckle vividly recalled to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, acknowledging his role due to the changes which secured the championship last campaign. They've been defeated a string of losses in all competitions post heavy investment, though he denied the idea it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, you will all eat your words with negative comments. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, excellent performer. It’s a really good balanced team. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally on the loss of Jota, a 2020 acquisition while in charge, and the effect for the team. The forward died tragically in a car crash with his brother this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of such an individual? This isn't just regarding the player himself, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the team environment absent his presence. Putting it into words is tough about it. A devastating blow for all the boys as well. No one within the club will ever use it for poor performances though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Dealing with that emotionally is challenging. Impossible.”
