English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.

The event will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
